You may start to experience swelling in your ankles and feet. Avoid standing for long periods of time to relieve symptoms. Your body will start to increase blood flow, red blood cells, more oxygen to the tissue and improve blood clotting. It’s not uncommon for you to have a stuffed up nose. Estrogen can cause more production of mucus. Since your blood volume is more, you may get a nose bleeds. Ask your doctor about taking any medicine to ensure it’s safe. Most likely you’ve gained around 5 pounds which is normal. You are pumping around 20% more blood at the moment. Throughout your pregnancy you will increased to 30-50% in blood pumping. If this is your 2nd or 3rd pregnancy you may show sooner because your abdominal muscles are relaxed.

















Your Baby At 15 Weeks

The baby can now press it’s lips together, open it’s mouth, move it’s head and open and close it’s hands. Air sacs are now starting to develop. Although the baby’s eyes are closed, light can be detected. If light were to go directly into the baby’s face, it would turn away. Sweat glands are now appearing. Right now hair is growing all over the baby called lanugo. By the time the baby is born, most of the hair will disappear. The baby can move all it’s joints now. The baby pumps out around 25 quarts of blood. Your baby now weighs about 2 ½ ounces and is about 4 inches long.
