32 Weeks Pregnant

You may experience some swelling in your face, feet and hands this week, especially if you are expecting in the hot summer months. Remember to rest often, elevate your feet when possible and drink plenty of water.

Pelvic Pressure

As the baby’s head rests down on your pelvis, the legs can now stretch as far up as your rib cage. This can often cause sore ribs if the feet are pushing into them. Practicing good posture can help prevent the baby’s feet from getting stuck in the rib cage. In addition, you may also experience increased discharge and a low sex drive this week. These are common symptoms and are no cause for concern.

Familiarity

Your baby will now be able to recognize your voice as well as your body functions and fluids. It can hear your heartbeat and blood flow, for example. This is a good time to let the father-to-be bond with the baby. He doesn’t get to experience all of the excitement going on in your body. The reality may set in for him when he is actually able to feel the baby move by placing his hand over your belly. But at this stage, he may also talk and sign to the baby so the baby will be familiar with his voice too. Your little bundle of joy continues to grow and mature. It now measures 4 lbs and 11.6 inches. The baby’s movements peak this week.

Cesarean - C-Section

Often times you won’t know until the last minute that an emergency c-section is necessary. Yet there are many reasons you may be a candidate for the operation. If you are planning a c-section, this is a good time to talk with your doctor. You will need to finalize your plan and schedule the operation.
