Boards of Pharmacy

Founded in 1904, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy represents all 50 states, as well as Canada and several additional countries. It works to enforce and regulate standards across the board for pharmaceutical practices. It acts as a guide for state-to-state pharmacy law.

Supplier of Information

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy produces a series of newsletters and other documented materials to aid pharmacists in their job and to protect the health of its customers.

Safety First

The number one job of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy is to ensure the safety and quality of imported drugs. They have no influence or regulation over the pricing of pharmaceutical drugs, however. They do not have control over how pharmacies price their inventory, but they are concerned about the safety of the products being exchanged and work hard to ensure they all meet a certain standard.

Board of Registration in Pharmacy

The purpose of the Board of Registration in Pharmacy is to maintain a national database that holds incident reports. This group performs a quarterly review, works to maximize pharmacies workspace and uses polls to gain insight on customer satisfaction to increase the effectiveness of the pharmaceutical industry. It also creates training programs that will properly educate future pharmacy technicians and coaches pharmacists on assisting prescription drug customers to be informed consumers.

Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites

In 1999, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy started this program to have some control over the medications being dispensed through web sites. Online pharmacies must take certain steps to gain this seal of approval on their site. This helps consumers to find quality pharmacists at a glance. The research has already been done for them and they know they will be getting the quality product they are ordering.
