Madras eye is conjunctivitis. there are a few basic tips 1) This is very contagious so if you touch the eye or other fomites ( towel/kerchief -anything that would have touched that persons eye) wash hands well preferably with a disinfectant. 2) Using glasses does NOT help 3) Looking at a person wit conjunctivitis or vice versa does not transmit the disease Transfer is by contact with infected material, not airborne.
