Preventing myopia?

I was looking at this site:
nearsightedness.org

It basically says that close up work, like reading in school, along with the myopia gene causes myopia. And, we should give each child reading glasses when they read so as to avoid nearsightedness. But, it also says that glasses are given instead because eye doctors are greedy and so are the eye doctors. And, by giving children glasses, it destroys their eyesight.
I was just wondering if anyone knows how true it is that reading and doing things up close really strain your eyes so much that it causes your vision to go.

Yeah, ive read that site... I have a real issue with the amount of fear mongering they spew out claiming everybody will get retinal detachment which is a bunch of garbage...

yes retinal detachment does exist and yes people with higher rates of myopia have a higher chance of getting it but the percentage of people even with high myopia that get retinal detachment is VERY LOW and should not be the base for their argument...

extensive close-up work however has been considered as something that progresses myopia, that is ALONG with genetics but this is still a relatively new field.

As I know that Shortsightedness could be caused by a variety of reasons like deficiency of Vitamin A or strain. Chicory powder contains a large quantity of Vitamin A which is essential for the proper functioning of the eyes.To know further details for dosages

hope this helps,
good luck :)
