Morning Sickness

mel0314 08-01-2005, 11:31 AM

My morning sickness is really bad, I'm 3 weeks pregnant.  Can someone tell me when it will go away?  Or, is there something that I can do to make it more bearable?

Thanks.

Some recommended treatments are Tums, special teas, stay away from spicy foods.

Morning sickness is typically caused from the body producing much more stomach acid than normal.  See your baby is taking the vast majority of the food from your stomach.  The morning sickness should start to get better in your second tri-mester.  Hang in there!

Morning sickness can last all pregnancy, but with most women it goes away by 20 weeks.  I always found eating before I even sat up in the morning the best thing to do.  Or sipping water when you get the feeling of being sick.  Morning sickness is not fun at all, but rest assured it will go away in time!

I'm 12 weeks and the nausea is energy draining.  Its worse when its hot outside.  Before even brushing your teeth in the morning (I know it sounds gross but it'll help), eat 5-10 saltine crackers.  That might help.  Also, I do a lot of sour things, like pickles and those seem to alleviate it.  When I had twins in 1997, I used to do olives, yes olives, but that too helped.  Good luck and remember, all this sickness will have a BEAUTIFUL end result....hang in there.
