Early pregnancy tests
Early pregnancy tests are basically intended to know and be certain that the
woman tested is conceiving a baby. However, there are some early pregnancy
tests that also detects the gender of the unborn baby, and this sometimes leads
to danger of abortion by parents who do not want a particular gender. And in
view of this danger, many governments have imposed a total ban on gender
determination of fetus.
Types of early pregnancy tests
There are many types of home pregnancy tests and you can use them at home or in
a clinic. Most of the gynecologists and doctors recommend that you wait until
the first day of your missed period before taking a home pregnancy test. This
usually happens about two weeks after conception. However, some early pregnancy
tests are more sensitive than others and can be taken earlier. Early pregnancy
tests also vary in the time period of how long you have to wait to get a
result. This time period is called reaction time of the early pregnancy test in
the manuals and literature that comes with these tests.
What are evaporation lines in early pregnancy tests
Evaporation lines, as the name itself suggests are caused due to evaporation of
the urine in the test area. An evaporation line generally develops when the
urine on the test area begins to dry, leaving a faint, usually colorless line.
It is better and advisable that you read the literature that comes with the
early pregnancy tests and look for instructions on when to read your results.
While some tests are no longer accurate after a certain amount of time, others
have been known to pick up Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) after a longer
period of time, and this is what you have to note while reading the literature
corresponding to the specific early pregnancy test.
