There are several requirements for becoming a pharmacist in New York. To be licensed, you must have good moral character, be 21 or older, be a U.S. citizen and must have completed the necessary education, exams and experience. In addition, you must start your continued education classes within 3 years after completing your degree program. The state of New York requires those in the field of pharmacy to take an added 45 hours of course work every three years they are active in the field.





University of Buffalo, New York

New York Sate Council of Health-system Pharmacists

This council is made up of 11 chapters in the region who practice in ambulatory, long-term, managed, home and acute care settings. They are approved to provide continued education programs for existing pharmacists in the sate of New York. They also support advancements in the field of pharmacy in general in the New York boundaries. They aim to assist pharmacists, who in turn assist the public with their pharmaceutical needs.
