USP Philadelphia College of Pharmacy

The University of Sciences in Philadelphia is the nation's leader in health care sciences, and has helped to form today's pharmaceutical industry. The University of Sciences was originally founded as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1821. This makes it the oldest college of pharmacy in America. The school has expanded to include professional degree programs in veterinary medicine, dentistry, biochemistry, medical technology and computer sciences, occupational therapy, and others related to health science. The pharmacy programs have developed further to include degree programs in Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management and Business, as well of a Doctor of Pharmacy option -- essentially touching on all aspects pharmacy.

Temple University School of Pharmacy

The School of Pharmacy joined what is Now Temple University at the turn of the century in 1901. Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) is located in the Northern part of the city. Students at TUSP enroll in the following degree programs: Doctor of Pharmacy, Master of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Master of Science, and Assurance/Regulatory Affairs. TUSP prides itself on individuality. An example is their Assurance/Regulatory Affairs program. The school refers to it as "the most comprehensive in the world". The Temple University School of Pharmacy also prides itself on being part of Philadelphia's Health Sciences Center. This gives pharmacy students unique access to Temple University medical schools, the T.U. Hospital, Children's Medical Center, and other resources.
